This means that the pumps send the sludge-water mixture back to the beginning of the aeration process with full force to lower the levels through extended retention times using denitrification or nitrification processes.

Sample filtration to produce high-quality permeate is performed continuously by the filtration system for the online analysis unit. The treated permeate is then directed to the respective online measuring system. The measurement intervals can be individually adjusted but are typically set to approximately 10 minutes.

It is important that the set threshold values correspond to those of the wastewater plant outlet in order to avoid exceedances. Effluent measurement stations, also equipped with online measuring systems, monitor the quality of the permeate before it is returned to the water cycle.
