The monitoring of the contents of waste water is the responsibility of the sewage plant operators. In order to ensure that only limit-conforming concentration quantities are returned to nature, the water is regularly sampled, analyzed and, if necessary, measures are taken. In filtration, a fundamental distinction is made between the separation areas of micro-, ultra- and nanofiltration. For the purpose of sample supply of measuring instruments the range of microfiltration and coarser is sufficient. Here we are moving at a particle size of 0.1 to 10 µm. We work either with the cross-flow method or in dead-end operation. Due to the cross-flow mode of operation, in which the membrane is flowed around, a cover layer gradually forms around the filter surface. This can be removed, for example, by backflushing through an air-water mixture at certain time intervals.
The membranes we use are made of a wide variety of materials. While the TMS-C uses a pore membrane, the CMS uses a special metal mesh. Furthermore, the filtration of the PMC is carried out with the help of a ceramic-like membrane. This enables us to provide our customers with the right tool for every application.
